50TH ANNIVERSARY EARTH DAY
Earth Day’s 50th anniversary with the global call for environmental reform comes at a time when human health and survival have never been more pressing. The current economic system is at the expense of people, animals, nature and the climate. The ecological damage done to our planet in the past 270 years is enormous. With 50 years of Earth Day, it is therefore also remarkable that after 270 years of industrial revolution, the earth recovers because of the Covid-19 pandemic, many factories and companies are forced to reduce or close production completely. The lesson for all of us is that we as humans must respect nature, which provides resistance to disease. The Covid-19 Pandemic and Earth Day 2020 teaches us that there must always be a balance between man and nature. “We wanted to change the Earth, but the Earth has informed us that we need to change.”
GRADUATED IN THE GLOBALGIVING ACCELERATOR!
Since the start of the SfA project, more than 65 donors have donated more than € 5500 to our fundraising for the realization of a modern bookingsite for the sustainable speaker platform ‘Speakers for Awareness’.
We are not yet at the required amount, but this is already a very nice result that we are very happy with. This also means our fundraising continues! We have been able to start building our online Speakersplatform but still need your help in order to launch Speakers for Awareness in the near future.
Participate in this crowdfunding campaign and help us with the realization of a beautiful booking site, so that the speakers affiliated with Speakers for Awarenesss can soon be presented in a professional manner!

Speakers for Awareness
Speakers for Awareness (SfA) is an idealistic speakers platform. The idea arose in 2019 by Mark Lambregts, who has had an agency for artists and speakers for over 30 years (www.artiest.nu) and has also been a non-profit for over 15 years. dir. is involved in NGO Green Cross Netherlands (part of the international sustainability and environmental organization Green Cross International, founded in 1993 by former President Mikhail Gorbachev). Due to the Corona crisis, all preparations for setting up the SfA platform stopped and the project was forced to be put on hold for several years.
In 2024, we are again working hard to realize this ideal speakers’ platform.
Speakers for Awareness is an idealistic speakers platform with the following goals:
- Offering speakers to the market who shine their light on ecological, social and economical sustainability and how to answer these challenges.
- Donating fees of speakers to what we call ‘impact projects’ from NGO’s, foundations and other organisations which are working on the transition to a sustainable world.
- Increasing the awareness of and transition to a sustainable society on the one hand and directly supporting local, national and international impact project with similar goals on the other hand.
The speaker world is a large market involving tens of millions in the Netherlands alone. This money is mainly used by commercial parties. SfA is a CSR project and uses part of this flow of money to accelerate sustainability development in ecological, social and economic areas.
The ‘Butterfly Effect’
If you throw a stone into the water, waves will start to arise at the water surface, concentric circles which exist out of increasingly small ripples as they move out of the place where the stone disappeared into the water.
Those ripples are caused by ourselves as well, all day long, throughout our whole lives, in the lives of other people in our world. By doing what we are doing or not doing, saying or not saying and by simply being, we are exercising influence on the inner world of others. We are often neither aware this is happening, nor are we aware of the ripples that our fellow human beings create within ourselves.
How heartwarming it can be when someone tells you that something you said or did, really meant something to them – whether it was weeks, months or even years ago. But even the small things like taking the time to listen to someone, smiling, handing out a compliment or a pat on the shoulder, are causing ripples in people’s souls. Some ripples will resonate for a little while, some for a day, but ripples can last for years, a whole life or even make their way to other generations.

THE SPEAKERS FOR AWARENESS LOGO
Speakers for Awareness uses the Phoenix as its logo. In Greek mythology, the Phoenix symbolizes immortality and rebirth. The expression “When a phoenix rises from the ashes” is used to indicate that something or someone is blossoming, after having first completely broken down. The spoken word is seen by Speakers for Awareness as “the source from which new thoughts and ideas can arise,” whereby people with new insights and knowledge can come to wisdom. These newly acquired insights are an absolute precondition for raising humanity as a whole to a higher level of existence, with which our world with all the life that arises therefrom has a greater chance of a peaceful future.
COMING SOON
The SfA team is currently working hard to further expand the SfA platform with top speakers. From end-2024, international speakers and chairmen will also be added to the SfA platform. The Dutch participating speakers and chairmen can now be (temporary) found on the Green Cross Netherlands site. The new (booking) website Speakers for Awarenes is expected to go live in the end of 2024.
